Truck tire size comparison
Switching sizes on a semi or trailer? See the real difference in diameter, revolutions per mile, speedometer reading and load capacity.
How to read it
- Revolutions per mile come from manufacturer data books and differ between tire models and tread depths, so we show the range and use the middle value for the math.
- Speedometer: if the truck is calibrated for the current size, fewer revolutions per mile with the new size means you are going faster than the dash shows.
- Engine RPM at the same road speed changes by the same percentage as revolutions per mile.
- Load: maximum load per tire at the stated cold pressure, single and dual mounting, by load range. Always use the table for your exact tire.
